It is my intention to have the book done by Sept.
So far, it went from a novel to a trilogy. Still working diligently on getting it completed by then.
Jackie was pulled out the car, her feet undone, so she
could be guided up some steps. Once inside she was led down a hall and turned
to more steps going down. She was pushed
to sit down where she was tied to a chair but her blindfold and gag taken off.
She blinked several times to focus, licking her lips for moisture.
The room was dark.
the light of her phone gave her something to see. The
man pressed the speaker button on the phone.
“Hello,” Mitch said. “Jackie where are you?” His tone
irritated.
“Answer him,” the man whispered, startling her.
Jackie looked around the room, to see if there was
something she could tell mitch about her surroundings, but a nudge in her back
with a pistol caused her to gasp and focus on the phone. “Mitch, I’ve been
umm….”
“Tell him you’ve been kidnapped.”
“I…I’ve been kidnapped,” She repeated loudly with a
shaky voice.
“Is the kidnapper with you?”
“Yes.”
Mitch cleared his throat. “Know this, whoever you are,”
there was a pause, Mitch was thinking, making sure his next set of words were
spoken clearly as possible. He didn’t want there to be any misunderstanding
about what he was going to say.
Jackie inhaled, swallowed and with the man in the room
she waited to hear from Mitch. Her life was in his hands, her very breath only possible
if he does what the man wants. He exhaled heavily over the phone, pin and
needles pricking over Jackies skin as she gets excited about knowing what he
was going to tell them.
“I will not pay a ransom. She’s your problem now.” He
hung up the phone.
What a jerk.
